Higher Moor Campsite sits at the heart of the Jurassic coast in the pretty village of Nottington just outside Weymouth, with its sheltered golden beach, and close to Dorchester, Dorset's county town.
You are a short drive to some of the spectacular 96 miles of the Jurassic Coast, including the world famous Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. There are lots of outdoor activities to get involved in from Kyaking, sailing, horse riding, hiking or cycling.
The 2012 Olympic Sailing took place in nearby Weymouth, with its golden sandy beach. and Portland, with its rugged nature and beautiful harbour and water sports. Both are well worth a visit.
There are plenty of near by good quality restaurants and we will direct you to best places to eat out and visit.
You can enjoy tranquil visits to the picture post card towns and villages of Abbotsbury, Milton Abbas, Corfe Castle, Evershot, Dorchester, Lyme Regis, West Bay and Bridport. You can follow in the steps of Thomas Hardy who lived nearby and wrote his novels about the area. There is nowhere nicer to explore.
There are hundreds of attractions, places to visit, things to see and places to eat within a short drive...
Open fires are not permitted but barbecues are allowed if located off the ground (bricks are available at fire points)
